It’s a jam-packed weekend in the Burnett, with plenty to keep the whole family busy this weekend.
Here’s your guide to all the events kicking off around the region:
South Burnett Saints Ladies Day
South Burnett Saints are celebrating this year’s Ladies Day in style with a marquee, champagne, nibblies and music.
The day kicks off from 1pm with women’s and men’s matches at Lyle Vidler Oval, with halftime games during the men’s match, including halftime sprint and kick for goal.
Celebrate 10 years of Saints Ladies with a great day catching up and having a drink with friends and family.
Tickets are $20 and need to be pre-purchased from Snap Fitness or Reanna at Bill Hull Mazda.
Murgon Cattle Show and Rodeo
After the devastating decision to cancel the 2022 show due to Covid restrictions, the Murgon Show Society will host its Beef and Prime Cattle Show this weekend.
Led steer and junior competitions will kick at noon, before an evening concert for a gold coin donation from 6pm to 9pm.
Stud cattle judging will start from 8am Sunday, followed by a daytime rodeo at 11am.
Parkruns
Looking for something more active? Pull on your running or walking shoes and get down to one of the many free Parkruns in the region.
The 5km runs cover courses across the Burnett and starting at 7am each Saturday.
Runners and walkers just need to sign up on parkrun.com.au and bring the printed barcode to the event.
There are Parkruns at three locations in the region:
- Nanango – Ros Gregor Trail, Tipperary Flat, next D’Aguilar Hwy
- Wondai – Coronation Park
- Proston – Railway Park
Yarraman Markets
If you’re looking for a day trip, head to Yarraman this Saturday morning to check out the Progress Association’s weekly market between 8am and 1pm.
Check out the dozens of stalls and car boot sellers on the corner of the D’Aguilar and New England Hwys, where the huge variety of goodies means you’re almost sure to find a bargain.
