Prep students across the South Burnett stepped into their classrooms for the first time on Monday morning where their excitement and a little bit of trepidation was tangible.

Coolabunia State School welcomed three sets of twins to its Prep class; the energetic youngsters were quick to start decorating their green sheep with glitter and colour, piecing together lego and making friends.
Kingaroy State School deputy principal Rebecca Hall said they were excited to see the smiling faces of their new Prep students enjoying the first day of school for 2023.

“As the crowns say, our students absolutely rocked their first day of Prep,” Ms Hall said.
“They spent time settling in, learning school routines and expectations, exploring their new environment and making lots of new friends.
“We are looking forward to watching them learn and grow throughout the year,” she said.
