Revealed: Elijah Carseldine crowned as South Burnett’s cutest baby born in 2021

Dozens of babies were in the race for the title of the region’s cutest bub and the final tally has now revealed the winner! This is the South Burnett’s most adorable baby, and the delectable faces that rounded out the region’s Top 10:

We had an overwhelming response to our search to crown the South Burnett’s cutest baby born in 2021 and the competition was tight, with dozens of pinchable cheeks flooding our online poll.

At just three month old baby Elijah Carseldine has won over our readers, who recently voted to crown the region’s cutest bub.

Mother Ashlee Hanson said Elijah had personality from the very beginning, starting from April Fools’ Day last year when she discovered she was pregnant in a confusing exchange.

“Part of me wasn’t sure if the doctor was kidding. I thought he’s just pulling my leg,” she laughed.

“But as soon as he was born and placed in my arms, you just don’t care about anything else then and there.”

Ms Hanson said little Elijah was the apple of his family's eye, with his doting grandparents and dad Jason Carseldine taking every opportunity to spend time with him.

With his big blue eyes and infectious smile, Elijah can light up any room and bring a smile to the grouchiest face, his adoring mum said.

“You can just tell how happy he is when he smiles,” she said.

“One of my favourite memories with him so far is when he had his first shower with his dad. That was a very cute memory.

“He quite likes the water. He just immediately settled and had that little half smile on his face.”

Ms Hanson said while Elijah is a bit of a Mummy's boy at the moment, at three months old he already perks his head up when he hears Dad’s car pull into the driveway, anticipating cuddles.

“He’ll immediately wake up from a nap because he can hear his car,” she said.

“He’s very alert. He already knows how to do so much for his age and I’m like, buddy, you need to slow down.”
