The historic Linville Hotel, a cherished country pub nestled in the heart of the Somerset Region, is up for sale.

Owners of the iconic establishment, which has been a cornerstone of the local community and a beacon for tourists, announced their bittersweet decision to sell.

“It’s with very mixed emotions that we confirm that we have made the tough decision to put our beloved hotel on the market,” they said in a recent statement.

“We have loved every minute of our ownership but for personal reasons, it’s time to hand the reins over to someone else to take it to the next level.

“We have worked hard and have made a lot of sacrifices during our ownership in order to build the venue and we hope we have done the community proud.”

In 2022, the hotel was sold for $1.15 million. Prospective buyers are invited to contact Off Market Hotels, who is marketing the property directly, for the current sale price.

The Linville Hotel, which dates back to 1904, has been a labour of love for the owners, who have strong familial ties to the region spanning five generations which includes their grandmother who worked in the hotel.

Their efforts have not only revitalised the hotel but also contributed to the local economy by increasing employment opportunities and enhancing the venue’s menu, atmosphere, and service.

The hotel has become a popular destination for visitors, from Brisbane Valley Rail Trail users to campers and day-trippers.

Off Market Hotels said the hotel is in a strategic location and has growth potential.

Situated just one and a half hours from Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, and Toowoomba, the hotel is ideally positioned to attract a diverse range of visitors.

The venue has gained a strong social media following and has been recognised by programs like the Best of Brisbane Region Experiences Support Program and the Transformational Experiences Mentoring Program.

The property boasts a range of features, including a full food and beverage operation, accommodation on the top floor, and substantial community support.

“The Linville Hotel is fast becoming an iconic destination hotel,” the owners said.

“We strongly believe that the hotel has so much to offer for not only the region but for Queensland Tourism. We know the next owners will take it even further and give this glorious building the recognition she deserves.”
