Booie man, 54, busted nearly five times over legal alcohol limit after crash on Kingaroy Barkers Creek road

The alleged drink driver hitched a ride home with a good Samaritan after crashing his car in Kingaroy, but police caught up with him soon after.

A man allegedly blew nearly five times over the legal alcohol limit after leaving the road and crashing into surrounding bushland on Saturday afternoon.

Police found the man at his Booie property after speaking to a 27-year-old woman, who said she drove him home after witnessing the crash on Kingaroy Barkers Creek road.

Kingaroy officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant David Tierney said the 54-year-old allegedly returned a 0.223 blood alcohol reading.

He is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 30 charged with drink driving.
