The 36-year-old mother of three said she saw a gap in the ready meals market as fresh food delivery services to the South Burnett are limited for customers with special dietary requirements.
“I see clients helping them with diet, nutrition and herbal medicine if they choose, the food side of my business came about in February this year when I felt like South Burnett needed healthy and convenient meals,” Ms Gates said.
“I have had customers who are elderly, pregnant, super busy or just don’t want to have to think about cooking,” she said.
“I make customisable meals from stir fry, lasagne to breakfasts and I’m working on putting a menu together.
“Customers have loved the variety of meals and the flavours I combine to change up what they would usually eat,” she said.
Ms Gates said she had always loved cooking and helping others.
“From working in the hospitality industry and wanting to help people become healthy, my love for cooking grew,” Ms Gates said.
“I have made breakfasts, lunches and dinners for customers for a fortnight at a time.
“I also cater for birthdays, parties and other events,” she said.
Meals are $11 to $12 per serving and Ms Gates said customers could contact her through the Herby Raw Facebook page to place orders.
