RESIDENTS of Orana Aged Care will open the doors of their home this weekend and welcome the community to their hilltop markets.
Saturday's event will be all about the residents as their idea comes to life thanks to the support of the people of the South Burnett.
Orana is a hub of activity as residents prepare their craft projects for the markets and assist with organising the raffle.
Orana creative programs and volunteer co-ordinator Katrina Hughes has been overwhelmed by the response to the event.
"I am extremely happy, it is so wonderful to see the community get behind it,” she said.
"I would like to thank the community from the bottom of my heart for supporting the event.
"Everyone is absolutely buzzing and they are very excited to have people come into their home and share the markets with them.”
In addition to displays from residents, the markets will feature more than 40 stores offering food, entertainment, kids' face painting and lots of bargains from much-loved South Burnett businesses.
For the residents it is more than just a market, it is an opportunity for them to be an active part of the community.
"This is them owning their life and making a choice, all we have to do is support that,” Ms Hughes said.
The doors of Orana will be open from 8am-1pm on Saturday. There will be something for the everyone, with entertainment starting from 8.30am including whip cracking and dance displays.
