The gates to the Gin Gin Showgrounds at 14 King St, Gin Gin will be open from 7.30am on Saturday.

Show society president Kerryn Flanders said she was excited to serve her sixth show as president, expecting more than 3000 guests over the course of the event.

Ms Flanders said guests could expect to see the classic horse, dog show, prime and sub cattle events but new competitions would include craft, quilting, fruit and vegetables, cooking and woodwork.

“We have the ute muster which is always a favourite as well as a very entertaining young farmer’s course,” she said.

Country musician Mark Flanders will be serenading the grounds on Saturday evening, while the children will have endless activities to enjoy such as a rock climbing wall, an Old McDonald farm and a soft play area.

Ms Flanders revealed the dog show would relocate to the Gin Gin Sports and Recreation Centre for a full two days across the weekend, as the entries were overflowing this year.

“Our biggest focus this year is ensuring the weekend is a traditional, agricultural show,” Ms Flanders said.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to our 40 wonderful volunteers, without them the weekend wouldn’t be possible,” she said.

Tickets can be bought either at the gate, or online with a price decrease if booked through the website.

Family Pass: $40, Adult: $15, Pensioners: and Concession Card Holders: $10, School Aged Children: $5, Under 5 years: Free.
