In the latest incident, emergency services were called to the roundabout at Birkdale Road and Quarry Road about 8.10pm on Monday night after a Toyota Prado travelling southbound struck and electric skateboard.
The skateboard rider, a 30-year-old Alexandra Hills man, sustained serious head injuries and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
On the same day, an e-scooter rider suffered serious injuries after colliding with a ute on the Logan Motorway off-ramp at the intersection with the Mount Lindesay Highway at Drewvale at 11am.
The 23-year-old male rider suffered significant head and facial injuries and was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition.
Police are appealing to anyone with information or relevant vision relating to both incidents to come forward.
Both crashes were just days after a young boy and a teenager were killed in e-bike crashes in the last week.
Eight-year-old Zeke Hondow was killed in an e-bike collision on the Sunshine Coast on Thursday, and then two days later Fudou Stovell, 15, was killed in an e-bike crash on the Gold Coast.
It comes as Premier David Crisafulli is resisting pressure to fast-track urgent reforms for controversial saying “change is coming” as calls for action before Christmas grow.
