A WOMAN suspected of putting rat poison in buffet food at two Brisbane Sizzler restaurants is believed to have escaped from the psychiatric unit.
The 58-year-old woman reportedly escaped today from the psychiatric wing of Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Police and Queensland Health were understood to be searching for the woman but neither would comment on the alleged escape.
A woman was charged in March last year with two counts of contaminating goods with intent and three counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, in January and February last year but the case did not go to trial due to the woman's assessed mental state.
Sizzler was forced to shut down its salad bar service nationwide following the discovery of a green pellets of rat poison in food at two Brisbane outlets.
