ANOTHER major movie set to start filming in Queensland has been left in limbo by the spiralling coronavirus crisis.

Just days after the Elvis biopic ceased production on the Gold Coast when Hollywood superstar Tom Hanks tested positive to the virus, a major production starring screen legend Jane Seymour has been ‘postponed indefinitely’ just as production was about to start in Brisbane.

Ruby’s Choice tells the story of a grandmother’s slide in to dementia, with the former James Bond and Doctor Quinn Medicine Woman star in the title role.

Coco Jack Gillies, who starred in Mad Max: Fury Road, is also in the cast, playing the granddaughter of Seymour’s character.

Aussie acting royalty Jacqueline McKenzie is also signed on to the project, but when it will go ahead is now uncertain after cast and crew were this week told production would be postponed immediately and indefinitely.

Filming was due to start at the end of the month, but some production was scheduled to start this week.

It is the fourth feature film of director Michael Budd, who lost his own grandmother to dementia, while the script was penned by Brisbane writer Paul Mahoney.

Half of the movie’s profits have been earmarked for Dementia Australia.

Meanwhile, Hanks has been released from hospital, but there is no word on when work on the Elvis production will resume.
