Search and rescue operation after two fall from boat

Police are still searching for a man who reportedly fell from a boat about 5.30pm on Friday south of Home Hill.

POLICE are still searching for a man who reportedly fell from a boat about 5.30pm on Friday south of Home Hill.

A Queensland police spokesperson said a group of men were were on a boat on Groper Creek when it crashed near a Jetty close to Hinkson Esplanade about 5.35pm.

Two men were able to make it safety while two men reportedly fell in the water.

A Queensland ambulance spokesperson said one of the men was recovered and taken to Townsville Hospital as a precaution for spinal injuries, cuts and abrasions.

The two other men did not require QAS assistance but the fourth person is believed to still be in the water.

Police are searching for the man with water police, swiftwater rescue crews, a helicopter and other rescue resources.

Emergency services are responded to an incident around 6:30pm at Groper Creek, Home Hill after reports two people fell from a boat, with one person still missing.

A man in his 30s person has been recovered, and has been taken to Ayr Hospital with facial injuries.

A QAS spokesperson said he was in a stable condition.

QPS, QFES with water rescue and a local rescue helicopter are searching for the second person.
