A Brisbane student has been hospitalised with serious injuries after being hit by a car while she crossed the road in front of her school.
Police responded to a vehicle and pedestrian incident at the Kitchener Rd intersection with Webster Rd, where the Somerset Hills state school is located.
A letter distributed to parents from the school’s principal Tom Black said the girl was taken to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious condition after the horror crash.
“Our thoughts are with the student and their family this evening … we are currently unaware if other community members witnessed the crash,” he wrote.
A police spokeswoman said the child was crossing the road when she was hit and the Forensic Crash Unit was investigating.
