While the forecast indicates a chance of rain, that's not stopping Agricultural and Pastoral president Mark Swan from expecting a crowd.

FOR the 101st year, Wallumbilla's showgrounds host to hundreds of show goers, as they enjoy everything from horse jumping to handicrafts.

While the forecast indicates a chance of rain, that's not stopping Agricultural and Pastoral president Mark Swan from expecting a crowd.

"Of course we will welcome the rain but, hopefully, we still get a good crowd,” he said.

"We have got a fairly good number of horse competitors coming, with those events starting on Friday.

"We have quite a few cattle coming as well, and for all the other entries we won't know how many we will have until they turn up on Friday.

"We ran a rodeo a few months ago which was part of it.”

Saturday is the show's main day, with something on offer for the whole family.

"Sideshow alley will be running for the kids from mid morning, with Gill Brothers providing the rides,” Mr Swan said.

"The Barnyard Babies will be there with a petting zoo, and there will be a few market stalls running as well.

"In terms of food, The Masonic Lodge will provide the canteen and we have The Pizza Bar, Dutch Poffertjes, Mr Whippy and the Chinese van coming.

"There will be trade stalls featuring Midwest Rural, Maranoa Mini Motors, D&R Motorcycles and The Big Red Bus.”

Festivities will continue after the sun goes down, with live entertainment by Wallumbilla local Russel Dewhurst and Roma's Ian Jackson from 4pm, before a fireworks display lights up the sky at 8.30pm.

"There is something there for every body, and it would be great to get as many people down there as we could,” Mr Swan said.

Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for children/pensioners, with free entry for those younger than six.
