Across the Maranoa region, there are countless teachers making a real difference in their student’s lives every single day.

Kate Yardley, prep to year 2 teacher at Injune P-10 State School, was ultimately voted as the region’s favourite teacher.

Ms Yardley said she always knew she wanted to be a teacher.

“I look back on it now and I think that the teachers I had when I went to school swayed that decision,” Ms Yardley said.

“My teaching philosophy centres around my students feeling safe, secure and supported.

“I believe that if I can create an environment that supports this feeling, the learning will come.”

“The sense of community at Injune State School is really the backbone of everything,” she said.

“The students, families, staff and the community really make it an awesome place to work and live.

“As I tell my class every day I have the best class in the whole world and I am so lucky to be their teacher.”

“I’d just like to say that I am very grateful and honoured to be recognised.
