Nicole Jade Tansell appears in Roma Magistrates Court after alleged insurance fraud

A Roma woman has appeared in court after being charged with insurance fraud. Here’s what we know.

A woman has appeared in court for the first time after being charged for allegedly defrauding an insurance company.

Nicole Jade Tansell appeared in Roma Magistrates Court on July 16 on one charge of fraud between $30,000 and $100,000.

Officer in charge of Roma police station, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said the woman is accused of making a “fraudulent claim after a car crash, which resulted in an insurance payout”.

The alleged fraud occurred between September 16, 2023 and June 10, 2024.

The matter was adjourned for another mention on August 21 in the Roma Magistrates Court.

Ms Tansell has not yet entered a plea to the charge.
