A woman who refused to pay when camping at the Big Rig Tourist Park was removed by police as onlookers watched her drunken outburst.

Deborah Elizabeth Bowen pleaded guilty in Roma Magistrates Court to two counts of public nuisance and breaching bail.

Police prosecutions said on February 1 police were called to remove a disorderly woman overstaying her welcome at the park after falling behind on payments.

When police arrived at about 5.45pm, Bowen “became verbally abusive and continued to walk around the park carrying on”.

Bowen was observed slurring her words and claiming there were cameras in the shower, the court was told.

The defendant denied allegations she was annoying other campers and yelling around children and took refuge from police inside her tent.

When police entered the tent to arrest her, they spotted several empty VB cans on the floor.

She was taken to the watch-house and a breath analysis revealed she had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.245.

Further, the court was told that after being released on bail on February 16 under the condition she couldn’t drink alcohol, Bowen was back to her usual tricks.

Police were called yet again to the caravan park at 9.30am the same morning after campers could hear her yelling and swearing from her tent.

When reprimanded by police, Bowen admitted to breaking bail conditions and said she had consumed three VB cans that morning.

Breath analysis revealed the defendant has a blood alcohol concentration of 0.184.

The court was told Bowen had since relocated to Chinchilla and is not welcome back to the Big Rig Tourist Park.

Magistrate Shane Elliott handed the defendant a $600 fine referred to SPER for all three offences and recorded her conviction.
