An Indian national who has repeatedly gotten behind the wheel without a licence has been slapped with a fine and a stern warning from the magistrate.
Roma magistrate Peter Saggers told Chandra Sekhar Guntupalli he has fronted court too many times for the same offence, warning it was time he got a Queensland licence.
Police prosecutor Pepe Gangemi said Guntupalli was caught by police on July 24 along Bungil Street.
“He held an Indian international licence but has been here for over six months,” he said.
“He has similar entries on his history but the prosecution is not seeking any disqualification period because he has now done his written driving test.”
Guntupalli told the court that he was awaiting to do his practical driving test.
His Honour warned the man he must not driving until he gets a Queensland licence.
“Walk until you have that licence in your hand,” he said.
“You have come before me multiple times for not having a licence, so you better get cracking.”
Guntupalli pleaded guilty to driving without a licence in court on August 3 and was fined $200.
