A man in his 60s is being treated in hospital for shoulder and back injuries after the truck he was working on Tuesday afternoon fell off its jack and pinned him to the ground.

The Roma-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service helicopter crew responded to reports a man was trapped under a truck on his property northeast of Roma at about 2.30pm on March 28.

Paramedics treated the man for his injuries before he was flown to Roma in a stable condition for further hospital treatment.

Tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland on behalf of Queensland Health, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to assisting in providing the south west region and beyond, with community aeromedical coverage, by donating 150 flying hours each year.

With aircraft based in Roma and Toowoomba, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter service is fully funded by the four SGAS partners.
