One person injured in St George truck rollover

Emergency services were called to a truck rollover on the Balonne Highway, with one person injured after being trapped by the crash.

Emergency services spent an hour on the scene of a truck crash as they worked to free an entrapped truck driver after his vehicle rolled over near St George on the Balonne Highway.

The left the road on the corner of the Balonne Highway and Powrunna Rd and was reported to emergency services at about 5.05am on Monday morning.

The male driver was freed by Queensland Fire and Ambulance Service workers and he was assessed by paramedics before being transferred to hospital.

A QFES spokeswoman said two fire crews were on scene and stayed for about an hour.

“It was a prime mover with a trailer (lying) on its side,” she said.

“One person was trapped in the vehicle and was extracted through the windscreen.”

The male driver was transported to St George Hospital in a stable condition with a head injury.

The crash scene was left in the hands of police.
