A BRAND new swimming pool, or major upgrades could be on the cards for Roma, provided community members actively share their opinion.

Over the next month, pool users across the Maranoa will be asked to give feedback on the Denise Spencer Memorial Pool, to help council decide on the future of the complex - namely the possibility of a new facility.

"There are a number of things that we are looking to find out,” portfolio chair for recreation and sport councillor Peter Flynn said.

"Everybody is aware that the current Roma pool has some deficiencies and a deal of maintenance that is required, so we are looking at a significant investment as far as a replacement of the pool goes.

"We are also looking to see whether the existing pool site is feasible for a replacement pool, or if we are able to go to some other area in town.”

Earlier, council brought in external consultants to meet with the project team, and is running the survey at their recommendation.

Residents can complete the electronic survey on the Maranoa Regional Council website, or physical copies are available at all of the region's swimming pools.
