PINAROO will see an injection of $3.73 million from Maranoa MP David Littleproud to help support seniors within the community.

Mr Littleproud announced today under the Coalition Government's Building Better Regions Fund, he will help deliver transformative construction and upgrades to Roma's Pinaroo aged care organisation.

"Three new two-unit duplexes will be built while another two are to be refurbished and solar panels will also be installed,” Mr Littleproud said.

"Pinaroo's duplexes are the originals from 1968, so as you could imagine they are certainly in need of some updating so by building new ones and upgrading originals we are improving a much-needed service to the Maranoa area and helping meet demand.

"Funding for this project goes a long way to making sure our seniors feel comfortable, satisfied with the residence and close to their family and friends.”

Roma Rotary chairman Howard Hobbs said this was a fantastic development and they were excited about the funding announcement.

"We are pleased David was able to achieve this for us and the new duplexes will be a very modern facility that will look to the needs of the future for the Maranoa region,” he said.

"Pinaroo itself is expanding and these units will be for independent living.

"It is something that has been needed to be done for a long time.”

It is expected that 18 full-time jobs will be created during stage one of Pinaroo's development.

"Without the Building Better Regions Fund, community investment projects, such as this one in Roma to boost aged care in the region, often struggle for funding but this Coalition Federal Government has invested more than $4.85 million for 14 projects in my electorate in this current round of funding,” Mr Littleproud said.
