COME ONE, come all, as Roma bands together to raise funds and collect donations for its northern cousins still recovering from the devastation caused by floods earlier this year.

Supported by Lions Club of Roma, Desert Plains to Flooding Rainsis a family fun day, set to take over Bassett Park on Saturday.

With market stalls, food vendors, live music, a petting zoo and pony rides, children's rides, jumping castle, balloon twisting, face painting, an art area, auctions and raffles, there is something for every body.

Organiser Sarah Stone encouraged children to bet involved too.

"There will be a best dressed kids' cowboy and cowgirl competition,” she said.

"This is the first year we've run this. Last year, we organised a fundraising day for Ronald McDonald House where we raised $12,000.

"It will be the same kind of event, lots of the vendors and activity and stall holders are coming back because it was so successful,.

"I would be stoked if we could raise that kind of money again, if we could beat it even better. But if we can just raise as much as we possibly can, that would help so much.”

Entry to the event is free, with guests invited to make a donation to the cause, whether that be cash or materials.

"People can bring donations to the day, we're trying to collect things, whether that be books, trailers, clothing, bedding. We have a trailer we want to fill,” she said.

"We will send it up north for the Lions club to distribute to the people in need.”

Ssupport the cause at Bassett Park on Saturday from 9am-2pm.
