Chilly start for the southwest

A massive cold front has swooped over the southwest.

ROMA was welcomed this morning with a chilly start as temperatures dropped below freezing.

The Bureau of Meteorology recorded the temperature at -4.8C at 6.30am this morning before reaching 16.7C at 11.30am.

The cold and frosty mornings are still set for the next couple of days with Monday and Tuesday reaching a low of -1C and a maximum of 24C.

Morning frost and light winds are also foretasted.

Further west in Charleville the Bureau of Meteorology recorded a low of -2.7C at 7am and in St George it hit -2.1C at 7am.

St George is forecast to have an overnight temperature of 0C on Monday and a daytime temperature of 20C.

Charleville is going to be the warmest with a low of 1C on Monday and Tuesday and a maximum of 25C with light winds.
