A timely reminder about sticking to a game plan took Roma Cities reserve grade above and beyond in its weekend match-up against Miles/ Taroom/Wandoan.

The boys in blue secured a 64-12 win over the Battlers on Sunday at Arthur Beetson Oval but the coach didn't shy away from technical pointers, even when Cities were comfortably ahead of their opponents.

"Miles were beating us for a bit in the ruck there with some of their big guys by the end of the first half,” coach Elliott Lewis said.

"Come half time, we had a chat about what we needed to do, and to start the second half we got a grip and played a lot better.”

The last week of the regular season is expected to be more challenging for ladder-topping Cities, as they face second-placed Mitchell Magpies.
