Schools and government buildings were allegedly the target of a young man’s months-long stealing spree, with police saying Charleville residents used social media to assist police in making an arrest.

A 19-year-old Charleville man has been charged with a raft of property, vehicle and drug offences after allegedly carrying out a months-long crime spree.
Police say the charges come after a spate of break-ins and related offences through October and November, which resulted in a “significant amount” of property damage, including to school buildings, offices, CCTV cameras, roller doors, and structural walls, floors and doors.

Some of the property was retrieved in raids across town, which also identified several additional suspects, according to police.
Charleville residents used social media to provide information to police that assisted in the arrest.
The 19-year-old man is charged with 13 offences and will front Charleville Magistrates Court at a later date.
Police said they expect further arrests to be made, with investigations still ongoing.
