Last Friday Goondir Health Services (Goondir Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Coorporations for Health Services) were awarded $20,000 from three southwest Domino’s stores as part of a grant program funded by Domino’s charity Give for Good.

The grant will go towards funding three programs: a food distribution program, emergency relief program and youth program across Chinchilla, Dalby, Oakey and St George.

Local owners of Domino’s Roma, Chinchilla and Dalby Sulay Patel and Prakash Balsara said Goondir Health Services was a worthy recipient of the grant.

“Our relationship with Goondir is relatively new but we are impressed by the work they do for vulnerable members of communities across southwest Queensland,” they said.

“We are proud to be able to support their work in creating healthier minds, providing services that reduce the impact of trauma and to empower young people in our region.”

Goondir Health Services chief executive officer Floyd Leedie said the grant from Domino’s will help meet the growing need for health care services.

“Part of this grant will go to the provision of food and groceries for the most in need in our communities, improving nutrition and reducing the stress that comes with financial insecurity,” Mr Leedie said.

“This will also allow us to continue to support counselling services to those impacted by escaping an unsafe relationship, suffering grief or a natural disaster.

“We are grateful for the investment of Domino’s Dalby through the Give for Good charity into the most vulnerable in remote Queensland.”

This store grant is one of seven awarded from $137,000 raised on Domino’s Give for Good Day held in February this year.

Give for Good is a registered charity of Domino’s, founded on giving to causes that align with values that are at the heart of their business – youth, community and disaster relief.
