Residents across several towns near Roma are being urged to stay alert and take safety precautions as firefighters continue battling bushfires in the area.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services issued an ‘advice’ level smoke warning at 9.28am Tuesday for Wallumbilla North, Yuleba North, and the surrounding areas.
It stated that while there is no direct fire threat to any properties at this time, reduced air quality and smoke may cause health impacts for some residents and require extra caution while driving.
Residents are asked to avoid driving through smoke where possible, be aware of firefighters working in the area, stay indoors with doors and windows closed, and keep any respiratory medication on hand.
Anyone with a bushfire survival plan should also refer to it when possible.
