Bureau of Meteorology issues severe thunderstorm warnings for Roma, Charleville, St George, Goondiwindi, Mungindi and Tara
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued severe thunderstorm warnings to most of southwest Queensland. Here’s when the storms will hit.

Severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued to a large area of southwest Queensland, with initial reports forecasting Charleville to receive the brunt of the rain.
The initial severe thunderstorm warning issued by Bureau of Meteorology for Charleville has now been upgraded to include the Roma, St George, Goondiwindi, Mungindi and Tara areas.
The bureau warns that southwest residents can expect incoming damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain over the next several hours.

A total of 44mm was recorded within a thirty minute period at Warilda Alert.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises residents in these areas to prepare by seeking shelter, moving cars undercover and away from trees, securing loose item, not driving in flood waters, avoid using the telephone during any thunderstorms and to contact SES on 132 500 for emergency assistance.
The next BOM warning is due to be issued by 3:35pm.
