The tragic truth about road deaths in Australia

Three people are in hospital after a horror crash on a rural highway in the early hours, including a woman who had to be flown to Brisbane.

The trio, all from Roma, were injured after their Landcruiser rolled off the Warrego Hwy near Mitchell just before 1am on May 28.

Police said the woman and two men were travelling on the highway at Amby, east of Mitchell, when the incident occurred.

Early investigations suggest the force of the crash was so great and caused all three to be thrown from the white ute.

The 19-year-old woman suffered critical injuries and was transported to Mitchell Hospital before being flown to a Brisbane hospital in a critical condition.

A 25-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was transported to Mitchell Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A 22-year-old man, who initially left the scene before returning, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mitchell Hospital in a stable condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident or vehicle prior to the crash is urged to contact police.
