Emergency services aare working to clear the road after a two-vehicle crash at a major Central Queensland intersection.

Reports indicate a Queensland Police Service officer called for assistance at 11am after coming across the crash at the Yaamba Rd (Bruce Hwy) and Yeppoon Rd intersection in north Rockhampton.

A witness said the crash has involved two small hatchback vehicles and airbags were deployed in both.

Paramedics are also at the crash.

QPS have requested two tow trucks attend the scene as both vehicles need to be towed.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman reported QAS transported one patient to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.
