Two boys stung by jellyfish at Emu Park beach

Two boys have been rushed to hospital after they were stung by jellyfish off the Capricorn Coast.

Two boys have been rushed to the Capricorn Coast Hospital and Health Service after they were stung by jellyfish at an Emu Park beach near Haven Rd while on school holidays.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said it happened about 12.45pm on Thursday, January 9.

It is not known what kind of jellyfish stung the boys.

A teenage girl was stung by a deadly box jellyfish at Airlie Beach on December 30.

She was taken to hospital overnight, receiving treatment for the deadly sting.

The teen was wading in knee-deep water when she said she felt a sudden temperature change from very hot to freezing cold, followed by an immense pain.

She and her mother said they were grateful her friends acted so quickly to call 000 and pour vinegar on her legs.
