A Capricorn Coast man was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when the car he was driving rolled in a paddock, injuring his passenger.
Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle rollover in a “grassy paddock” on private property around 7.50pm on Friday night (December 2) on Cawarral Road at Tungamull, between Rockhampton and Emu Park.
A 22-year-old man, believed to be the passenger, was trapped in the vehicle for some time and was freed by emergency services.
He was treated by paramedics for arm, leg and suspected spinal injuries.
He was taken in an ambulance in a stable condition to Rockhampton Hospital, 30 minutes away.
Paramedics also assessed a 42-year-old man, the driver, however he declined further transport.
Police attended the scene and the driver, from Tungamull, was issued with a notice to appear at Rockhampton Magistrates Court for mid-range drink driving.
His licence was immediately suspended.
A mid-range offence is when the blood alcohol content level is 0.10 to 0.149.
The maximum suspension period for the offence is 12 months and a fine of up to $3096.
The man is due to appear on December 15.
