A Sydney developer is looking to build a set of units on the fringe of Rockhampton’s inner city.
The plans are for 250 Denison Lane and the adjoining lot at the corner of 34 Derby Street in Rockhampton City.
The 1012sq m lot at 250 Denison Lane currently has three low-set cottages on the block, which sold for $325,000 in May.
The apparently vacant homes are quite old and small, and are believed to have been built before 1956.
They will be demolished to make way for the development.
The Derby Street lot adjoining the houses is across the laneway from the DC Motors used cars yard and is currently vacant and used mostly as a car park.
This 472sq m property sold for $150,000 in July to the same buyer.
Development plans for four units and reconfiguration of a lot were submitted to the council this month.
Two single-storey buildings are proposed to be built with two units in each and would be mirror images of one another.
The units have a standard floor plan with a main bedroom and ensuite, study as a second bedroom, plus a porch and undercover single car park.
The planning application notes the proposed development “uses the land in the most effective way without adversely impacting neighbouring dwellings”.
The application will now be assessed by the council.
