St Mary’s Catholic Primary School Rockhampton sent into lockdown
Police were called to St Mary’s Catholic Primary School on Friday morning to reports of a man acting ‘erratically’.

A Rockhampton primary school was sent into lockdown on Friday morning after a man was reportedly acting “erratically” on school grounds.
Police were called to St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, on Nobbs St, Berserker about 8am.
It is understood the man was first near a prep classroom before going into the school’s admin building.
St Mary’s Principal Simon Warren said normal school operations had resumed by 8.30am.
“This morning, police attended St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, North Rockhampton in response to an incident which was responded to according to Catholic Education – Critical Incident Procedures,” he said.
“The matter was resolved and normal school operations commenced around 8.30am.
“The safety and wellbeing of all our students and staff is always our highest priority and I would like to take this opportunity to assure parents that St Mary’s remains a safe learning environment.”
The 34-year-old man was apprehended by police and taken to hospital for assessment.
Later on Friday afternoon he was issued an infringement for trespassing.
