The Landsberg brothers are both set to don maroon after playing their way into Queensland indoor hockey teams.

It is the fourth consecutive year that Eli, 14, has earned state selection, while it is the first for 13-year-old Ryley.

The star siblings are among a long list of Central Queensland reps who are headed for higher duties after impressing at their respective state championships.

Leading the charge is Jessica Moffat, 22, who will be shooting for World Cup selection at next month’s national open women’s championships.

Eli, too, is ready to bring his A-game when he lines up for Queensland at the under-16 nationals in Canberra in January.

He was an integral member of the Rockhampton under-16 team that claimed the state title with a dramatic come-from-behind grand final win last month.

Eli relishes the intensity of indoor hockey.

“I like how it’s a lot quicker and you’re never really out of the play. There’s five on the field and everyone has to be doing something every second of the game,” he said.

“I like being the smart player out there, thinking ahead of the play.”

Eli was excited for Ryley to earn his first Queensland call-up.

“It’s good to see him make a team. He’s worked pretty hard to get there,” he said.
