Snake bite victim flown from Agnes Waters to Bundaberg Hospital

A farmer and a man in his 20s have been flown to hospital after separate snake bite emergencies in on Tuesday, just days after a well-known snake wrangler was struck by a deadly brown.

A young man has been flown to hospital in a serious condition following a reported snakebite at Agnes Water.

Queensland Ambulance Service were called to a private address at the beachside tourist town about 10.25am Tuesday.

A spokeswoman for QAS said the man, aged in his 20s, was bitten on the arm and had applied a compression bandage before a rescue helicopter arrived.

It’s believed the man was moving the reptile off the road when it bit him on the arm.

The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter met QAS paramedics at a nearby airstrip and flew the man to Bundaberg Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Meanwhile, about 9am, the Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to a property in the Somerset region after a man was bitten by a brown snake.

The man, aged in his 50s, was working on his property when the snake bit his leg.

The chopper landed in a field where the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic assisted in treating the patient, along with local QAS paramedics.

He was flown to Toowoomba Hospital.

The call-outs comes after well-known South East Queensland snake catcher Tony Harrison bitten by a deadly brown snake on Sunday afternoon.

Shocked fans watched the drama unfold when the incident was livestreamed on Facebook.

The video has since been deleted.

Mr Harrison took to social media on Tuesday morning, posting a video from his hospital bed showing how ill he is.

Earlier this month Emerald mum Brogan Iddles shared her son’s miracle recovery after he was bitten by, what was believed to be, an Eastern Brown snake.

Valik, three, was bitten on the ankle multiple times while at his grandparents place – with the little boy spending a night in ICU following the bite.
