Smoooth Juice Rockhampton liquidation: Creditors list, employees owed $72k

More than 20 trades suppliers are also owed more than $130,000 plus thousands in superannuation and to the ATO. See the full creditors list.

Suppliers and employees are owed thousands of dollars in the collapse of Rockhampton businesses Smoooth Juice.

Director Sandra Rowcliffe filed for a voluntary winding up on March 29 with Michael Beck of Worrells Insolvency and Forensic Accountants CQ appointed as the liquidator.

Reports were filed by Mr Beck with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission detailing the extent of the liquidation.

The businesses, with the northside store in the Highway Palms Complex on Yaamba Road and southside on George Street, were run by Ms Rowcliffe with her son Brett Paul.

The southside store was struck by a fire on March 12, which is being treated as suspicious by police.

The northside store closed on March 28.

One report notes Mr Paul owes $98,595.55 in a loan from funds taken from the business.

A total of 19 employees are owed money, according to the reports, with amounts per person ranging from $394 to $4907 with a total of $72,397 owed in employee entitlements.

The Australian Taxation Office is owed $20,000 and a further $34,057 is owed in superannuation.

Secured creditors are owed $312,266 and 23 trade creditors/suppliers are owed $131,329.

Mr Beck noted in his report he first had a telephone conversation with the director on the company’s affairs on November 11, 2022 with a number of conversations since.

On March 26, the director indicated via text message she wanted to commence liquidation of the company and the related entity and a meeting was arranged for the following day.

For lease signs have been placed in the windows of the northside building and equipment and furniture still remains inside.
