Maureen Anderson, a Gungulu woman from Mt Morgan, was proud to walk out at the NAIDOC March among four generations of her family. See the photos here:
Her great-grandson and great-granddaughter stayed in their strollers as the rest of her family made their way across the Fitzroy River (Tunuba) to the NAIDOC Expo held on the Commons.
“It’s a perfect day for all Murrays to come together and celebrate our cultures and the fact we’re still here,” she said.
The crowd made its way along East Street where Aunt Sally picked the best position, outside the Old Post Office on the tray of her ute.
Various organisation from around Central Queensland joined in the march. The theme of this year’s NAIDOC is Heal Country.
