UPDATE: Boy in hospital after being hit in head by jet ski

Paramedics treated the seven-year-old for minor head injuries.

UPDATE, 6PM: A SEVEN-year-old boy has been taken to hospital this afternoon after he was hit in the head by a jet ski by the Fitzroy River.

At 4.05pm, paramedics were called to a boat ramp near Richardson Rd and Larcombe St, Rockhampton, after reports of the incident.

Once on scene, paramedics treated the boy for minor head injuries.

He was taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.

4.05PM: PARAMEDICS are rushing to boat ramps on the north side of Rockhampton after calls about a child being hit in the head by a jet ski.

Reports indicate there is confusion as to where the child is located but it is believed the incident took place near the Fitzroy Barrage.

It is believed the seven-year-old male is conscious and breathing, but has been hit in the head.
