A proposed new childcare centre on Rockhampton’s southside could create new jobs and cater for more children with the construction of a new building.
Rockhampton Grammar School is planning an extension of its early learning centre on Reservoir Street at The Range.
It is proposing to extend the existing childcare centre on the site with a new two-storey building with 299sqm of gross floor area including two learning rooms, ancillary kitchen and storage, toilets and nappy change, and a staffroom.
This extension would allow for up to 44 more students and six more staff.
An additional 19 parking spaces would also be built to cater for the expansion.
A development application was lodged with Rockhampton Regional Council on July 2 and is awaiting approval.
