Rockhampton’s Tiani Tayla Baker sent sex video to get back at partner

A young Queensland mum’s moment of rage led to a social media message featuring revenge porn with a twist.

Tiani Tayla Baker, 21, sent a video which showed her partner receiving oral sex by the video recipient, Rockhampton Magistrates Court heard on January 17.

A young mum was fuming at her partner for being in contact with another woman the day she fired off an explicit sex video via social media, Rockhampton Magistrates Court has heard.

Tiani Tayla Baker, 21, sent a video to the woman which showed the man receiving oral sex from the video recipient.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Caitlin Booker said the victim told police, when she attended the station the next day to report the offence, that she did not previously know of the video’s existence and had not given permission for it to be filmed.

She said Baker told police her boyfriend was asleep when she sent the video, and she did it “as she felt betrayed because her boyfriend was talking to the victim even though he had stated that he was not”.

Defence lawyer Samantha Legrady said her client, who worked for Australia Post, was not aware it was an offence to send the video.

Ms Legrady said Baker has a two-year-old son with her current partner.

She said at the time of the offence, her partner had gone through her phone so she decided to go through his and saw that he had saved that video of himself.

“She made a very foolish decision to send it to the complainant,” Ms Legrady said.

She said Baker deleted it immediately and now understood there was no excuse for doing such actions, even if she was upset

“She’s extremely sorry and she’ll never do this again,” Ms Legrady said.

Baker had no prior criminal record.

She was placed on a six-month good behaviour bond with $500 recognisance and a conviction was not recorded.
