Homes listed for more than $1 million have been in high demand over the past 12 months, especially on the Capricorn Coast which recorded more than 30 million-dollar sales.

Included in those sales was a villa at Keppel Bay Marina that sold for $2 million on Christmas Eve.

According to RMW Property Agents, a Yeppoon based real estate agency, an “exponential” number of southerners were choosing to make the move to the seaside location and were snapping up properties at “prices not witnessed in 14 years”.

Property agent Cheyne White, who sold Villa 14 at Bayside Way, said the property sold after 10 days on the market to buyers from Shoalhaven, New South Wales, who were looking to move up to the seaside village.

Ms White said she was thrilled to see the Capricorn Coast attracting significant investors.

“The last time a villa at the marina sold for this figure was back in 2007 when we last saw a real peak in the real estate market on the coast,” she said.

“We are once again seeing properties achieving these outstanding prices, signifying another boom within our beautiful backyard.

“With the advancement of technology including 3D virtual tours, FaceTime, video walk-throughs and photos, we are also selling a number of properties online without buyers stepping foot inside.”

RMW Property Agents is continuing its winning streak on Bayside Way with Villa 16 selling for $2.2 million after two days on the market after it was listed for sale on January 25.

“These architecturally designed and award-winning luxury villas are Australia’s best-kept boating secret and provide the ideal base to discover the Capricorn Coast and Southern Great Barrier Reef,” Ms White said.
