A male stripper who bought a home in Queensland for $90,000 says “flipping houses is what I do” but “stripping is in my blood”.
Originally from Melbourne, Troy King has been stripping for the last 15 years.
“15 years ago I left my wife and started stripping and haven’t looked back since,” he said.
Mr King said one of the reasons he started stripping was for the women.
“That’s why all men do it at the start,” he said.
“And then I saw all the money and realised there is quite a lot of money in stripping.
“On a weekend you could probably pour in $1500 to $2000.
“I’ve done shows where I have done $25,000 in one night.
“I’ve also done shows where I have lost.
“It’s up and down.”
After a year of stripping for someone else, Mr King started his own adult entertainment service, Raw Muscle Entertainment Australia.
He said he did a tour in America with Raw Muscle Entertainment and had taken his shows to New Zealand and all over Australia.
“I have seen so much of the world I would never have seen before,” he said.
Although, he said he was phasing out of stripping a little bit to focus on flipping houses.
Mr King purchased a two-bedroom home in Cunningham Lane, Mount Morgan in Central Queensland for $90,000 in March through Discover Real Estate.
It was the eighth house Mr King had purchased to renovate.
“It was pretty much what was in my budget at the time,” he said.
“I had that in cash and I had probably about $70,000 cash to do the reno.”
He said the house was an “eyesore” when he got it but that it was starting to take shape and was about five weeks away from the renovations being completed.
“This house in Mount Morgan is anywhere from $180,000 to $250,000 profit if I was to sell, which I don’t think I will,” he said.
“I think I will just take the money out to buy again.”
He said he started work on building houses at 18 years old and owned three homes by 22.
He said the houses he had renovated had mostly been in Melbourne and Townsville and that he had sold two.
“I have always been pretty handy,” he said.
“There’s nothing in a house I can’t fix.”
Growing up as a kid, he said he built cubby houses and would help his dad, who was a plumber, and uncle, who was a builder.
He said he had only really got hard into buying houses in the last year or so.
“I can see the money in it now,” he said.
“I was always concentrated in taking Raw to America and making it a lot bigger.
“The tour life is hard, living out of a suitcase for 15 years.
“It feels good to have a base for a little bit.
“I will still do some shows, some tours here and there next year.
“I will never stop.
“Stripping is in my blood, it’s who I am, it’s what I love.
“Flipping houses isn’t what I love, it’s what I do and I can do it really well.”
He said he was in the process of trying to get his builders licence.
“The next few years I’ve got my mind focused on building the wealth,” he said.
“I am looking into buying a gym for that passive income so I can keep renovating.
“And getting as many cheaper properties and flipping them until I get my builders licence.
“That’s the dream.”
Mr King is doing private strip shows in Mount Morgan, Rockhampton, Yeppoon and Gladstone.
