A businessman accused of ordering an employee to stab the neighbour of a person he was stalking is wanted on a warrant.

Timothy James Gorman was due to enter pleas in relation to two charges – one of stalking and one of wounding – in Rockhampton District Court on February 24, but it was adjourned as he had new lawyers who were still waiting to receive his files from his previous lawyers.

Mr Gorman is accused of stalking his former partner’s new love.

Further, while loitering near that man’s house one night while in the company of an employee, he allegedly told a “very tall” man to “stab that c***, we’ll come back later for the other one” when the alleged stalking victim’s neighbour behaved in a Good Samaritan manner – checking on the welfare of his neighbour.

The man who did wield the knife and stab the Good Samaritan, Clynt Frederick Ellis, 48, was sentenced in the Rockhampton District Court in December 2023 to four years prison, with parole eligibility on July 6, 2024 and declared 283 days of pre-sentence custody as time already served.

The court heard during that sentencing that the victim was at his home with his 21-year-old stepson on Derby St, Allenstown, on March 6, 2023, when they heard some commotion outside at 8.30pm and went out to investigate.

The court heard the victim and his stepson saw Ellis and another man walk into the neighbour’s yard and they were worried something was going to happen and intervened.

The district court heard in February 2025 that the other man was Mr Gorman and he had been charged with one count of stalking of his former partner’s new boyfriend and one count of wounding in relation to the stabbing.

Mr Gorman was due back in court to enter pleas on March 10, with defence barrister Maree Willey telling the court on that occasion she was advised that morning Mr Gorman had driven to Brisbane and the Gold Coast area last week (March 8) to see his children ahead of Cyclone Alfred making landfall and he had not returned to Rockhampton by March 10’s court appearance.

She said Mr Gorman’s legal team had not been in contact with him since March 7.

Mr Gorman’s charges were adjourned to March 13, where his lawyers had the same status of no contact.

Judge Brad Farr ordered the Department of Public Prosecutions to serve a notice to Mr Gorman that his appearance was required to be in court on March 19.

Ms Willey again told the court Mr Gorman could not be contacted and no further funds had been placed in the legal account to retain private services.

The DPP advised Queensland police were unable to find Mr Gorman at his bail address.

Judge Farr ordered a bench warrant be issued for Mr Gorman’s arrest and his lawyers were granted leave to withdraw from representing him in the future.
