A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said the incident occurred on the corner of Albert and Bolsover St, with an unidentified white granular substance is covering 200m of the road.

QFD is liaising with their scientific unit to safely manage the substance.

Fire crews are currently working to sweep the material into a salvage drum.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said they received the triple-0 call at 12.24pm.
