The road has been cleared and rail services resume after a train and car collision in Rockhampton.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said police were called to the crash on the corner of Cambridge and Denison Streets at 12.45pm.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics attended the scene at 12.48pm.

The elderly female driver received minor lacerations to her arm but declined transport to hospital.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said one crew attended the incident at 12.55pm.

A Queensland Rail spokeswoman told The Morning Bulletin just after 1pm that said the incident involved a Watco train.

She said the track was closed while emergency services worked at the incident.

The spokeswoman said it was expected the incident had potential for minor delay to two freight services this afternoon.

The spokeswoman provided an update at 2.50pm, reporting the railway was cleared at about 2pm and rail services had resumed.

The Morning Bulletin contacted Watco about the incident. The company declined to comment at the moment.
