Rockhampton Police break window to rescue child in Centrelink carpark

Police were forced to take drastic action when a child was accidentally trapped in a Rockhampton carpark.

Police broke the window of a car in the Centrelink carpark to rescue a child accidentally locked in the vehicle about 12.30pm.

The child was conscious and breathing and Queensland Ambulance Service officers checked the child afterward.

Police arrived at the carpark within 10 minutes of the initial call.

The child was not distressed and was not injured, according to authorities.
