Hannah Holmes lives next door to the car yard and said the sound of the “bang” shook her home.

“My partner went to the front window and could smell smoke, so he ran to the front side window and we saw the car (in the car yard) just on fire, we call triple 0 immediately and fireys came within five minutes.”

Mrs Holmes said it took firefighters up to 45 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

“It was pretty crazy...it was pretty close to lighting two other cars up, there was fire all underneath two cars beside it,” she said.

“Thank god it didn’t light up or anything, but it was very close. We probably would have had to evacuate if it lit another two cars up...it was pretty scary.

“It’s usually a pretty quiet street, nothing really goes on.”

Queensland Ambulance Service were on standby at the incident but no patients were reported.
