A court has heard an update in the case of a Rockhampton woman who allegedly stabbed her husband to death.
Kerrie Lee Catling, 50, was charged with murder in August last year and her matter was mentioned in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday (September 7, 2022).
Chris Catling, 51, died in hospital, allegedly as a result of a single stab wound by a knife to his chest, at the family home in North Rockhampton, on March 22, 2021.
In court on Wednesday, solicitor Mirren Smith told Acting Magistrate Ron Muirhead that a summary was currently being completed for counsel.
“However we just need to have a formal conference with counsel, solicitor and client - preferably in person, she (Ms Catling) is in Brisbane,” Ms Smith said.
“Counsel is quite busy.”
Ms Smith said given the circumstances, she sought an adjournment for two months.
Mr Muirhead adjourned the matter to November 9 and remanded Ms Catling in custody.
